This full-time RVer shows you how to prepare a fall-apart tender pork roast in the crockpot.
Ingredients:
1, 3 to 4 pound boneless pork butt
1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
3/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup apple juice
1/2 t salt
Directions:
Place pork butt in crockpot. Sprinkle with Worcestershire sauce - rotate roast so Worcestershire covers all meat.Take a handful of brown sugar and "smush" a brown sugar crust all over roast. Pour apple juice in the bottom of the crockpot - NOT over the meat.
Cook on high for one hour and turn to low - cooking an additional 4 hours or until meat literally falls apart when you try to lift it with a fork.
Break meat apart and push down into drippings. Sprinkle with salt. Do not omit this step as it is vital to bringing out the meat flavors.
Many thanks to Debbie King for this version:
Cook pork shoulder in root beer (put enough root beer to cover the cheapest pork roast and cook for 4-6 hrs) drain, shred pork, put back in crockpot and add your favorite BBQ sauce, simmer a while and serve.
